Michael Lau<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2022_0320_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\" \/><\/audio><\/div>\n<p><u><strong>John 13:12-30 (NIV)<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-26643\" class=\"text John-13-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place.\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cDo you understand what I have done for you?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0he asked them.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26644\" class=\"text John-13-13\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cYou call me \u2018Teacher\u2019\u00a0and \u2018Lord,\u2019\u00a0and rightly so, for that is what I am.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26645\" class=\"text John-13-14\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another\u2019s feet.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26646\" class=\"text John-13-15\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26647\" class=\"text John-13-16\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master,\u00a0nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26648\" class=\"text John-13-17\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-13-18\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: \u2018He who shared my bread has turned\u00a0against me.\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26650\" class=\"text John-13-19\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe\u00a0that I am who I am.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26651\" class=\"text John-13-20\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26652\" class=\"text John-13-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit\u00a0and testified,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cVery truly I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26653\" class=\"text John-13-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26654\" class=\"text John-13-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved,\u00a0was reclining next to him.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26655\" class=\"text John-13-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, \u201cAsk him which one he means.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26656\" class=\"text John-13-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, \u201cLord, who is it?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26657\" class=\"text John-13-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus answered,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cIt is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas,\u00a0the son of Simon Iscariot.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26658\" class=\"text John-13-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-13-27\">So Jesus told him,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cWhat you are about to do, do quickly.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26659\" class=\"text John-13-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>But no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26660\" class=\"text John-13-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>Since Judas had charge of the money,\u00a0some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the festival,\u00a0or to give something to the poor.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26661\" class=\"text John-13-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out.
