{"id":982,"date":"2022-03-13T21:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-13T21:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/?p=982"},"modified":"2022-07-13T17:12:33","modified_gmt":"2022-07-13T17:12:33","slug":"sermon20220313","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/sermon20220313\/","title":{"rendered":"Humility in Action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span hidden=\"\">Humility in Action<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"sermonNotes2022\">\n<div class=\"sermonInfoTitle\">2022 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy<br>Scripture: John 13:1-11 (ESV)<br>Speaker: Mr. Aaron Garcia<\/div>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2022_0313_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<p><u><strong>John 13:1-11 (ESV)<\/strong><\/u><br><span class=\"text Dan-1-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"text John-13-1\">It was just before the Passover Festival.&nbsp;Jesus knew that the hour had come&nbsp;for him to leave this world and go to the Father.&nbsp;Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26633\" class=\"text John-13-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26634\" class=\"text John-13-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power,&nbsp;and that he had come from God&nbsp;and was returning to God;<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26635\" class=\"text John-13-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26636\" class=\"text John-13-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples\u2019 feet,&nbsp;drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26637\" class=\"text John-13-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, \u201cLord, are you going to wash my feet?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26638\" class=\"text John-13-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus replied,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cYou do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26639\" class=\"text John-13-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cNo,\u201d said Peter, \u201cyou shall never wash my feet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-13-8\">Jesus answered,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cUnless I wash you, you have no part with me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26640\" class=\"text John-13-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cThen, Lord,\u201d Simon Peter replied, \u201cnot just my feet but my hands and my head as well!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26641\" class=\"text John-13-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus answered,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cThose who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean.
