{"id":974,"date":"2022-03-06T21:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-06T21:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/?p=974"},"modified":"2022-03-06T17:12:14","modified_gmt":"2022-03-06T17:12:14","slug":"sermon20220306","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/sermon20220306\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Not Fair!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span hidden=\"\">It&#8217;s Not Fair!<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"sermonNotes2022\">\n<div class=\"sermonInfoTitle\">2022 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy<br \/>\nScripture: Acts 12:1-9, 18-19, 21-24<br \/>\nSpeaker: Mr. Alex Chan<\/div>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2022_0306_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<p><u><strong>Acts 12:1-9, 18-19, 21-24 (NIV)<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Dan-1-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"text Acts-12-1\">It was about this time that King Herod&nbsp;arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-27340\" class=\"text Acts-12-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>He had James, the brother of John,&nbsp;put to death with the sword.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-27341\" class=\"text Acts-12-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews,&nbsp;he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-27342\" class=\"text Acts-12-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-27343\" class=\"text Acts-12-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-27344\" class=\"text Acts-12-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains,&nbsp;and sentries stood guard at the entrance.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-27345\" class=\"text Acts-12-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>Suddenly an angel&nbsp;of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell.
