class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2022_0213_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\" \/><\/audio><\/div>\n<p><u><strong>Ephesians 4 (ESV)<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 2Cor-5-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"text Eph-4-1\">I therefore,\u00a0a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to\u00a0walk in a manner worthy of\u00a0the calling to which you have been called,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29258\" class=\"text Eph-4-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>with all\u00a0humility and\u00a0gentleness, with\u00a0patience,\u00a0bearing with one another in love,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29259\" class=\"text Eph-4-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in\u00a0the bond of peace.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29260\" class=\"text Eph-4-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>There is\u00a0one body and\u00a0one Spirit\u2014just as you were called to the one\u00a0hope that belongs to your call\u2014<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29261\" class=\"text Eph-4-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>one Lord,\u00a0one faith,\u00a0one baptism,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29262\" class=\"text Eph-4-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>one God and Father of all,\u00a0who is over all and through all and in all.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29263\" class=\"text Eph-4-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>But\u00a0grace was given\u00a0to each one of us\u00a0according to the measure of Christ&#8217;s gift.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29264\" class=\"text Eph-4-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore it says,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text Eph-4-8\">\u201cWhen he ascended on high\u00a0he led a host of captives,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Eph-4-8\">and he gave gifts to men.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"first-line-none top-1\"><span id=\"en-ESV-29265\" class=\"text Eph-4-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>(In saying, \u201cHe ascended,\u201d what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29266\" class=\"text Eph-4-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>He who descended is the one who also\u00a0ascended\u00a0far above all the heavens, that he might\u00a0fill all things.)<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29267\" class=\"text Eph-4-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29268\" class=\"text Eph-4-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for\u00a0building up\u00a0the body of Christ,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29269\" class=\"text Eph-4-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,\u00a0to the measure of the stature of\u00a0the fullness of Christ,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29270\" class=\"text Eph-4-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>so that we may no longer be children,\u00a0tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in\u00a0deceitful schemes.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29271\" class=\"text Eph-4-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>Rather,\u00a0speaking the truth in love, we are to\u00a0grow up in every way into him who is\u00a0the head, into Christ,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29272\" class=\"text Eph-4-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped,\u00a0when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Eph-4-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>Now this I say and\u00a0testify in the Lord,\u00a0that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do,\u00a0in the futility of their minds.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29274\" class=\"text Eph-4-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>They\u00a0are darkened in their understanding,\u00a0alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to\u00a0their hardness of heart.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29275\" class=\"text Eph-4-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>They\u00a0have become callous and\u00a0have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29276\" class=\"text Eph-4-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>But that is not the way you\u00a0learned Christ!\u2014<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29277\" class=\"text Eph-4-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>assuming that\u00a0you have heard about him and\u00a0were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29278\" class=\"text Eph-4-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>to put off your old self,\u00a0which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through\u00a0deceitful desires,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29279\" class=\"text Eph-4-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>and\u00a0to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29280\" class=\"text Eph-4-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>and to put on\u00a0the new self,\u00a0created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-29281\" class=\"text Eph-4-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you\u00a0speak the truth with his neighbor, for\u00a0we are members one of another.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29282\" class=\"text Eph-4-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29283\" class=\"text Eph-4-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>and\u00a0give no opportunity to the devil.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29284\" class=\"text Eph-4-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>Let the thief no longer steal, but rather\u00a0let him labor,\u00a0doing honest work with his own hands, so\u00a0that he may have something to share with anyone in need.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29285\" class=\"text Eph-4-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give\u00a0grace to those who hear.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29286\" class=\"text Eph-4-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,\u00a0by whom you were sealed for the day of\u00a0redemption.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29287\" class=\"text Eph-4-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31\u00a0<\/sup>Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-29288\" class=\"text Eph-4-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32\u00a0<\/sup>Be kind to one another, tenderhearted,\u00a0forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave
