Who are we, that you should grumble against us?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-1956\" class=\"text Exod-16-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>Moses also said, \u201cYou will know that it was the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0when he gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you want in the morning, because he has heard your grumbling\u00a0against him. Who are we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-1957\" class=\"text Exod-16-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>Then Moses told Aaron, \u201cSay to the entire Israelite community, \u2018Come before the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>, for he has heard your grumbling.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Exod-16-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>While Aaron was speaking to the whole Israelite community, they looked toward the desert, and there was the glory\u00a0of the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0appearing in the cloud.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-1959\" class=\"text Exod-16-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>The\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0said to Moses,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-1960\" class=\"text Exod-16-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI have heard the grumbling\u00a0of the Israelites. Tell them, \u2018At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0your God.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-1961\" class=\"text Exod-16-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>That evening quail\u00a0came and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew\u00a0around the camp.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-1962\" class=\"text Exod-16-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost\u00a0on the ground appeared on the desert floor.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-1963\" class=\"text Exod-16-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, \u201cWhat is it?\u201d For they did not know\u00a0what it was.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Exod-16-15\">Moses said to them, \u201cIt is the bread\u00a0the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0has given you to eat.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-1964\" class=\"text Exod-16-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>This is what the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0has commanded: \u2018Everyone is to gather as much as they need.
