Dr. Paul Brittain<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2021_1212_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\" \/><\/audio><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><u><strong>Luke 22:54-62<\/strong><\/u> (NIV)<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Luke-22-54\"><sup class=\"versenum\">54\u00a0<\/sup>Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest.\u00a0Peter followed at a distance.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25920\" class=\"text Luke-22-55\"><sup class=\"versenum\">55\u00a0<\/sup>And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25921\" class=\"text Luke-22-56\"><sup class=\"versenum\">56\u00a0<\/sup>A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, \u201cThis man was with him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-25922\" class=\"text Luke-22-57\"><sup class=\"versenum\">57\u00a0<\/sup>But he denied it. \u201cWoman, I don\u2019t know him,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-25923\" class=\"text Luke-22-58\"><sup class=\"versenum\">58\u00a0<\/sup>A little later someone else saw him and said, \u201cYou also are one of them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Luke-22-58\">\u201cMan, I am not!\u201d Peter replied.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-25924\" class=\"text Luke-22-59\"><sup class=\"versenum\">59\u00a0<\/sup>About an hour later another asserted, \u201cCertainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-25925\" class=\"text Luke-22-60\"><sup class=\"versenum\">60\u00a0<\/sup>Peter replied, \u201cMan, I don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about!\u201d Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25926\" class=\"text Luke-22-61\"><sup class=\"versenum\">61\u00a0<\/sup>The Lord\u00a0turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him:\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cBefore the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25927\" class=\"text Luke-22-62\"><sup class=\"versenum\">62\u00a0<\/sup>And he went outside and wept bitterly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>John 21:15-19<\/strong><\/u> (NIV)<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-21-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cSimon son of John, do you love me more than these?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-21-15\">\u201cYes, Lord,\u201d he said, \u201cyou know that I love you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-21-15\">Jesus said,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cFeed my lambs.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26915\" class=\"text John-21-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>Again Jesus said,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cSimon son of John, do you love me?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-21-16\">He answered, \u201cYes, Lord, you know that I love you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-21-16\">Jesus said,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cTake care of my sheep.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26916\" class=\"text John-21-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>The third time he said to him,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cSimon son of John, do you love me?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-21-17\">Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cDo you love me?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0He said, \u201cLord, you know all things;\u00a0you know that I love you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text John-21-17\">Jesus said,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cFeed my sheep.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26917\" class=\"text John-21-18\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26918\" class=\"text John-21-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death\u00a0by which Peter would glorify God.\u00a0Then he said to him,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cFollow me!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26919\" class=\"text John-21-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved\u00a0was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, \u201cLord, who is going to betray you?\u201d)<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26920\" class=\"text John-21-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>When Peter saw him, he asked, \u201cLord, what about him?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don\u2019t Disappoint God 2021 Church Theme: One Heart, One Mission Scripture: Luke 22:54-62, John 21:15-19 Speaker: Rev.
