Paul Lee<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2024_0331_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\" \/><\/audio><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Romans 4:13-25 (ESV)<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Rom-4-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>For\u00a0the promise to Abraham and his offspring\u00a0that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28021\" class=\"text Rom-4-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28022\" class=\"text Rom-4-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>For\u00a0the law brings wrath, but\u00a0where there is no law\u00a0there is no transgression.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-28023\" class=\"text Rom-4-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>That is why it depends on faith,\u00a0in order that the promise may rest on grace and\u00a0be guaranteed to all his offspring\u2014not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham,\u00a0who is the father of us all,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28024\" class=\"text Rom-4-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>as it is written,\u00a0\u201cI have made you the father of many nations\u201d\u2014in the presence of the God in whom he believed,\u00a0who gives life to the dead and calls into existence\u00a0the things that do not exist.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28025\" class=\"text Rom-4-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told,\u00a0\u201cSo shall your offspring be.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28026\" class=\"text Rom-4-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness\u00a0of Sarah&#8217;s womb.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28027\" class=\"text Rom-4-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28028\" class=\"text Rom-4-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>fully convinced that\u00a0God was able to do what he had promised.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28029\" class=\"text Rom-4-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>That is why his faith was \u201ccounted to him as righteousness.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28030\" class=\"text Rom-4-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>But\u00a0the words \u201cit was counted to him\u201d were not written for his sake alone,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28031\" class=\"text Rom-4-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>but for ours also. It will be counted to us\u00a0who believe in\u00a0him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28032\" class=\"text Rom-4-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised\u00a0for our justification.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2024 Church Theme: Ready, Set, Grow: Journeying Together to Build Up the Church Scripture: Romans 4:13-25 (ESV) Speaker: Rev.
