Paul Lee<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2024_0204_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\" \/><\/audio><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Acts 18:24-19:10 (ESV) <\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-18-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>Now a Jew named\u00a0Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man,\u00a0competent in the Scriptures.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27569\" class=\"text Acts-18-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>He had been instructed in the way of the Lord. And being fervent in spirit,\u00a0he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only\u00a0the baptism of John.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27570\" class=\"text Acts-18-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>He began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when\u00a0Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him\u00a0the way of God more accurately.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27571\" class=\"text Acts-18-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>And when he wished to cross to\u00a0Achaia,\u00a0the brothers encouraged him and\u00a0wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived,\u00a0he greatly helped those who through grace had believed,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27572\" class=\"text Acts-18-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures\u00a0that the Christ was Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"chapter-2\"><span class=\"text Acts-19-1\"><span id=\"en-ESV-27574\" class=\"text Acts-19-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1 <\/sup><\/span>And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland\u00a0country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27574\" class=\"text Acts-19-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>And he said to them,\u00a0\u201cDid you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?\u201d And they said, \u201cNo,\u00a0we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27575\" class=\"text Acts-19-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>And he said,\u00a0\u201cInto what then were you baptized?\u201d They said, \u201cInto\u00a0John&#8217;s baptism.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27576\" class=\"text Acts-19-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>And Paul said,\u00a0\u201cJohn baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people\u00a0to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27577\" class=\"text Acts-19-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>On hearing this, they were baptized in\u00a0the name of the Lord Jesus.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27578\" class=\"text Acts-19-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and\u00a0they began speaking in tongues and\u00a0prophesying.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27579\" class=\"text Acts-19-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>There were about twelve men in all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-27580\" class=\"text Acts-19-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0he entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and persuading them\u00a0about the kingdom of God.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27581\" class=\"text Acts-19-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>But when some became stubborn and continued in unbelief, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-27582\" class=\"text Acts-19-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>This continued for\u00a0two years, so that\u00a0all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2024 Church Theme: Ready, Set, Grow: Journeying Together to Build Up the Church Scripture: Acts 18:24-19:10 (ESV) Speaker: Rev.
