{"id":1457,"date":"2023-06-18T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-18T09:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/?p=1457"},"modified":"2023-06-13T14:55:55","modified_gmt":"2023-06-13T14:55:55","slug":"sermon20230618","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/sermon20230618\/","title":{"rendered":"Our FATHER in Heaven"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"sermonNotes2023\">\n<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy<br \/>\nScripture: Jonah: 1-4, 9-11<\/p>\n<p>Speaker: Mr. Alex Chan<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2023_0618_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jonah: 1-4, 9-11<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 1Cor-1-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1 <\/sup><\/span><span class=\"text Jonah-1-1\">The word of the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;came to Jonah&nbsp;son of Amittai:<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-22534\" class=\"text Jonah-1-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cGo to the great city of Nineveh&nbsp;and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-22535\" class=\"text Jonah-1-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>But Jonah ran&nbsp;away from the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa,&nbsp;where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-22536\" class=\"text Jonah-1-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>Then the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-22541\" class=\"text Jonah-1-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>He answered, \u201cI am a Hebrew and I worship the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>,&nbsp;the God of heaven,&nbsp;who made the sea&nbsp;and the dry land.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-22542\" class=\"text Jonah-1-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>This terrified them and they asked, \u201cWhat have you done?\u201d (They knew he was running away from the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>, because he had already told them so.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-22543\" class=\"text Jonah-1-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11&nbsp;<\/sup>The sea was getting rougher and rougher.
