Example"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"sermonNotes2023\">\n<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy<br \/>\nScripture: 1 Corinthians 8 (ESV)<\/p>\n<p>Speaker: Pastor Aaron Garcia<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2023_0604_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1 Corinthians 8 (ESV)<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 1Cor-1-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1 <\/sup><\/span><span class=\"text 1Cor-8-1\">Now about food sacrificed to idols:&nbsp;We know that \u201cWe all possess knowledge.\u201d&nbsp;But knowledge puffs up while love builds up.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28530\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>Those who think they know something&nbsp;do not yet know as they ought to know.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28531\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>But whoever loves God is known by God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28532\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols:&nbsp;We know that \u201cAn idol is nothing at all in the world\u201d&nbsp;and that \u201cThere is no God but one.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28533\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>For even if there are so-called gods,&nbsp;whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many \u201cgods\u201d and many \u201clords\u201d),<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28534\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>yet for us there is but one God,&nbsp;the Father,&nbsp;from whom all things came&nbsp;and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord,&nbsp;Jesus Christ, through whom all things came&nbsp;and through whom we live.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28535\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>But not everyone possesses this knowledge.&nbsp;Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak,&nbsp;it is defiled.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28536\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>But food does not bring us near to God;&nbsp;we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28537\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block&nbsp;to the weak.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28538\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol\u2019s temple, won\u2019t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols?<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28539\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11&nbsp;<\/sup>So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed&nbsp;by your knowledge.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28540\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12&nbsp;<\/sup>When you sin against them&nbsp;in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28541\" class=\"text 1Cor-8-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13&nbsp;<\/sup>Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy Scripture: 1 Corinthians 8 (ESV) Speaker: Pastor Aaron Garcia 1 Corinthians 8 (ESV) 1 Now about food sacrificed to idols:&nbsp;We know that \u201cWe all possess knowledge.\u201d&nbsp;But knowledge puffs up while love builds up.&nbsp;2&nbsp;Those who think they know something&nbsp;do not yet know as they ought to &hellip;
