George Mah<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2023_0528_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1 Peter 2:4-10 (NIV)<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 1Pet-2-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>As you come to him, the living Stone\u2014rejected by humans but chosen by God&nbsp;and precious to him\u2014<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-30405\" class=\"text 1Pet-2-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>you also, like living stones, are being built&nbsp;into a spiritual house<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-30405a\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-30405a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;>a<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Peter%202&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-30405a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup>&nbsp;to be a holy priesthood,&nbsp;offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-30406\" class=\"text 1Pet-2-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>For in Scripture it says:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-6\">\u201cSee, I lay a stone in Zion,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-6\">a chosen and precious cornerstone,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 1Pet-2-6\">and the one who trusts in him<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-6\">will never be put to shame.\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-30406b\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-30406b&quot; title=&quot;See footnote b&quot;>b<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Peter%202&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-30406b\">b<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"first-line-none top-05\"><span id=\"en-NIV-30407\" class=\"text 1Pet-2-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-7\">\u201cThe stone the builders rejected<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-7\">has become the cornerstone,\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-30407c\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-30407c&quot; title=&quot;See footnote c&quot;>c<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Peter%202&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-30407c\">c<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"first-line-none top-05\"><span id=\"en-NIV-30408\" class=\"text 1Pet-2-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>and,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-8\">\u201cA stone that causes people to stumble<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-8\">and a rock that makes them fall.\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-30408d\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-30408d&quot; title=&quot;See footnote d&quot;>d<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Peter%202&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-30408d\">d<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"first-line-none top-05\"><span class=\"text 1Pet-2-8\">They stumble because they disobey the message\u2014which is also what they were destined for.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-30409\" class=\"text 1Pet-2-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>But you are a chosen people,&nbsp;a royal priesthood,&nbsp;a holy nation,&nbsp;God\u2019s special possession,&nbsp;that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-30410\" class=\"text 1Pet-2-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God;&nbsp;once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy Scripture: 1 Peter 2:4-10 (NIV) Speaker: Rev.
