{"id":1419,"date":"2023-05-07T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-07T09:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/?p=1419"},"modified":"2023-05-02T14:23:01","modified_gmt":"2023-05-02T14:23:01","slug":"sermon20230507","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/sermon20230507\/","title":{"rendered":"The Gospel People, the Church &amp; Division (Pt 3)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"sermonNotes2023\">\n<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy<br \/>\nScripture: 1 Corinthians 3 (ESV)<\/p>\n<p>Speaker: Pastor Aaron Garcia<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2023_0507_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1 Corinthians 3 (ESV)<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 1Cor-1-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1 <\/sup><\/span><span class=\"text 1Cor-3-1\">Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit&nbsp;but as people who are still worldly\u2014mere infants&nbsp;in Christ.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28413\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>I gave you milk, not solid food,&nbsp;for you were not yet ready for it.&nbsp;Indeed, you are still not ready.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28414\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling&nbsp;among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28415\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>For when one says, \u201cI follow Paul,\u201d and another, \u201cI follow Apollos,\u201d&nbsp;are you not mere human beings?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28416\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>What, after all, is Apollos?&nbsp;And what is Paul? Only servants,&nbsp;through whom you came to believe\u2014as the Lord has assigned to each his task.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28417\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>I planted the seed,&nbsp;Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28418\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28419\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28420\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>For we are co-workers in God\u2019s service;&nbsp;you are God\u2019s field,&nbsp;God\u2019s building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28421\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>By the grace God has given me,&nbsp;I laid a foundation&nbsp;as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28422\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11&nbsp;<\/sup>For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28423\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12&nbsp;<\/sup>If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28424\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13&nbsp;<\/sup>their work will be shown for what it is,&nbsp;because the Day&nbsp;will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person\u2019s work.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28425\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14&nbsp;<\/sup>If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28426\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15&nbsp;<\/sup>If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved\u2014even though only as one escaping through the flames.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28427\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16&nbsp;<\/sup>Don\u2019t you know that you yourselves are God\u2019s temple&nbsp;and that God\u2019s Spirit dwells in your midst?<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28428\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17&nbsp;<\/sup>If anyone destroys God\u2019s temple, God will destroy that person; for God\u2019s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28429\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18&nbsp;<\/sup>Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise&nbsp;by the standards of this age,&nbsp;you should become \u201cfools\u201d so that you may become wise.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28430\" class=\"text 1Cor-3-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19&nbsp;<\/sup>For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God\u2019s sight.
