When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28397\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28398\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>I came to you&nbsp;in weakness&nbsp;with great fear and trembling.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28399\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words,&nbsp;but with a demonstration of the Spirit\u2019s power,<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28400\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God\u2019s power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature,&nbsp;but not the wisdom of this age&nbsp;or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28402\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>No, we declare God\u2019s wisdom, a mystery&nbsp;that has been hidden&nbsp;and that God destined for our glory before time began.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28403\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>None of the rulers of this age&nbsp;understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28404\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>However, as it is written:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-9\">\u201cWhat no eye has seen,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-9\">what no ear has heard,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 1Cor-2-9\">and what no human mind has conceived\u201d\u2014<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-9\">the things God has prepared for those who love him\u2014<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"first-line-none top-05\"><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>these are the things God has revealed&nbsp;to us by his Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-10\">The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28406\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11&nbsp;<\/sup>For who knows a person\u2019s thoughts&nbsp;except their own spirit&nbsp;within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28407\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12&nbsp;<\/sup>What we have received is not the spirit&nbsp;of the world,&nbsp;but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28408\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13&nbsp;<\/sup>This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28409\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14&nbsp;<\/sup>The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God&nbsp;but considers them foolishness,&nbsp;and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28410\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15&nbsp;<\/sup>The person with the Spirit&nbsp;makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28411\" class=\"text 1Cor-2-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16&nbsp;<\/sup>for,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-16\">\u201cWho has known the mind of the Lord<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-16\">so as to instruct him?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"first-line-none top-05\"><span class=\"text 1Cor-2-16\">But we have the mind of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy Scripture: 1 Corinthians 2 (ESV) Speaker: Pastor Aaron Garcia 1 Corinthians 2 (ESV) 1 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters.
