{"id":1339,"date":"2023-02-12T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-12T09:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/?p=1339"},"modified":"2023-02-07T19:50:54","modified_gmt":"2023-02-07T19:50:54","slug":"sermon20230212","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/sermon20230212\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking Spiritual Ground (III) &#8211; In the Brokenness"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"sermonNotes2023\">\n<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy<br \/>\nScripture: Genesis 3 (ESV)<\/p>\n<p>Speaker: Pastor Aaron Garcia<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2023_0212_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Genesis 3 (ESV)<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Gen-1-24\" style=\"font-size: revert;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1 <\/sup><\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-1\">Now&nbsp;the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;God had made.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Gen-3-1\">He said to the woman, \u201cDid God actually say, \u2018You&nbsp;shall not eat of any tree in the garden\u2019?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-58\" class=\"text Gen-3-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>And the woman said to the serpent, \u201cWe may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden,<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-59\" class=\"text Gen-3-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>but God said,&nbsp;\u2018You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.\u2019\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-60\" class=\"text Gen-3-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>But the serpent said to the woman, \u201cYou will not surely die.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-61\" class=\"text Gen-3-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-62\" class=\"text Gen-3-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise,&nbsp;she took of its fruit&nbsp;and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her,&nbsp;and he ate.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-63\" class=\"text Gen-3-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>Then the eyes of both were opened,&nbsp;and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-64\" class=\"text Gen-3-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>And they heard the sound of the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span> God walking in the garden in the cool&nbsp;of the day, and the man and his wife&nbsp;hid themselves from the presence of the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;God among the trees of the garden.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-65\" class=\"text Gen-3-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>But the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span> God called to the man and said to him, \u201cWhere are you?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-66\" class=\"text Gen-3-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>And he said, \u201cI heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid,&nbsp;because I was naked, and I hid myself.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-67\" class=\"text Gen-3-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11&nbsp;<\/sup>He said, \u201cWho told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-68\" class=\"text Gen-3-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12&nbsp;<\/sup>The man said,&nbsp;\u201cThe woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-69\" class=\"text Gen-3-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13&nbsp;<\/sup>Then the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;God said to the woman, \u201cWhat is this that you have done?\u201d The woman said,&nbsp;\u201cThe serpent deceived me, and I ate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-70\" class=\"text Gen-3-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14&nbsp;<\/sup>The&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;God said to the serpent,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-14\">\u201cBecause you have done this, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-14\">cursed are you above all livestock <\/span><\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-14\">and above all beasts of the field; <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-14\">on your belly you shall go, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-14\">and dust you shall eat <\/span><\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-14\">all the days of your life.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-71\" class=\"text Gen-3-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15&nbsp;<\/sup>I will put enmity between you and the woman, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-15\">and between your offspring and her offspring; <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-15\">he shall bruise your head, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-15\">and you shall bruise his heel.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"top-1\"><span id=\"en-ESV-72\" class=\"text Gen-3-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16&nbsp;<\/sup>To the woman he said,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-16\">\u201cI will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-16\">in pain you shall bring forth children.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Gen-3-16\">Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-16\">but he shall&nbsp;rule over you.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"top-1\"><span id=\"en-ESV-73\" class=\"text Gen-3-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17&nbsp;<\/sup>And to Adam he said,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-17\">\u201cBecause you have listened to the voice of your wife <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-17\">and have eaten of the tree <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-17\">of which I commanded you, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-17\">\u2018You shall not eat of it,\u2019<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Gen-3-17\">cursed is the ground because of you; <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-17\">in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-74\" class=\"text Gen-3-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18&nbsp;<\/sup>thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-18\">and you shall eat the plants of the field.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-75\" class=\"text Gen-3-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19&nbsp;<\/sup>By the sweat of your face <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-19\">you shall eat bread, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-19\">till you return to the ground,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-19\">for out of it you were taken; <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Gen-3-19\">for you are dust, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Gen-3-19\">and&nbsp;to dust you shall return.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"top-1\"><span id=\"en-ESV-76\" class=\"text Gen-3-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20&nbsp;<\/sup>The man called his wife&#8217;s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-77\" class=\"text Gen-3-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21&nbsp;<\/sup>And the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-78\" class=\"text Gen-3-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22&nbsp;<\/sup>Then the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;God said,&nbsp;\u201cBehold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand&nbsp;and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever\u2014\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-79\" class=\"text Gen-3-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23&nbsp;<\/sup>therefore the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;God sent him out from the garden of Eden&nbsp;to work the ground from which he was taken.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-80\" class=\"text Gen-3-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24&nbsp;<\/sup>He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the&nbsp;cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy Scripture: Genesis 3 (ESV) Speaker: Pastor Aaron Garcia &nbsp; Genesis 3 (ESV) 1 Now&nbsp;the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;God had made.
