Mike Whittle<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2023_0129_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\" \/><\/audio><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">John 10:1-21<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Rev-22-12\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">1 <\/sup><\/span><\/span><span class=\"text John-10-1\"><span class=\"woj\">\u201cVery truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26484\" class=\"text John-10-2\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26485\" class=\"text John-10-3\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.\u00a0He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26486\" class=\"text John-10-4\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26487\" class=\"text John-10-5\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger\u2019s voice.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26488\" class=\"text John-10-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus used this figure of speech,\u00a0but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26489\" class=\"text John-10-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore Jesus said again,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cVery truly I tell you, I am\u00a0the gate\u00a0for the sheep.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26490\" class=\"text John-10-8\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>All who have come before me\u00a0are thieves and robbers,\u00a0but the sheep have not listened to them.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26491\" class=\"text John-10-9\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.\u00a0They will come in and go out, and find pasture.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26492\" class=\"text John-10-10\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,\u00a0and have it to the full.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26493\" class=\"text John-10-11\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI am\u00a0the good shepherd.\u00a0The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26494\" class=\"text John-10-12\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away.\u00a0Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26495\" class=\"text John-10-13\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26496\" class=\"text John-10-14\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI am the good shepherd;\u00a0I know my sheep\u00a0and my sheep know me\u2014<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26497\" class=\"text John-10-15\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>just as the Father knows me and I know the Father\u2014and I lay down my life for the sheep.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26498\" class=\"text John-10-16\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>I have other sheep\u00a0that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock\u00a0and one shepherd.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26499\" class=\"text John-10-17\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life\u2014only to take it up again.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26500\" class=\"text John-10-18\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.\u00a0I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26501\" class=\"text John-10-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>The Jews who heard these words were again divided.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26502\" class=\"text John-10-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>Many of them said, \u201cHe is demon-possessed\u00a0and raving mad.\u00a0Why listen to him?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26503\" class=\"text John-10-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>But others said, \u201cThese are not the sayings of a man possessed by a demon.\u00a0Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-31097\" class=\"text Rev-22-16\"><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2023 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy Scripture: John 10:1-21 Speaker: Rev.
