By no means! Nevertheless, in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it used what is good&nbsp;to bring about my death,&nbsp;so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28106\" class=\"text Rom-7-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14&nbsp;<\/sup>We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual,&nbsp;sold&nbsp;as a slave to sin.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28107\" class=\"text Rom-7-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15&nbsp;<\/sup>I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28108\" class=\"text Rom-7-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16&nbsp;<\/sup>And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28109\" class=\"text Rom-7-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17&nbsp;<\/sup>As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28110\" class=\"text Rom-7-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18&nbsp;<\/sup>For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-28110c\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-28110c&quot; title=&quot;See footnote c&quot;>c<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+7&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-28110c\">c<\/a>]<\/sup>&nbsp;For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28111\" class=\"text Rom-7-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19&nbsp;<\/sup>For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do\u2014this I keep on doing.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28112\" class=\"text Rom-7-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20&nbsp;<\/sup>Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28113\" class=\"text Rom-7-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21&nbsp;<\/sup>So I find this law at work:&nbsp;Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28114\" class=\"text Rom-7-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22&nbsp;<\/sup>For in my inner being&nbsp;I delight in God\u2019s law;<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28115\" class=\"text Rom-7-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23&nbsp;<\/sup>but I see another law at work in me, waging war&nbsp;against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin&nbsp;at work within me.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28116\" class=\"text Rom-7-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24&nbsp;<\/sup>What a wretched man I am!
