Michael Lau<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2022_0612_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<p><u><strong>John 16:16-33<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n<span class=\"text John-16-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus went on to say,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cIn a little while&nbsp;you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26744\" class=\"text John-16-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17&nbsp;<\/sup>At this, some of his disciples said to one another, \u201cWhat does he mean by saying,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u2018In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,\u2019<\/span>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u2018Because I am going to the Father\u2019<\/span>?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26745\" class=\"text John-16-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18&nbsp;<\/sup>They kept asking, \u201cWhat does he mean by&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u2018a little while\u2019<\/span>? We don\u2019t understand what he is saying.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26746\" class=\"text John-16-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cAre you asking one another what I meant when I said, \u2018In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me\u2019?<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26747\" class=\"text John-16-20\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20&nbsp;<\/sup>Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn&nbsp;while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26748\" class=\"text John-16-21\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21&nbsp;<\/sup>A woman giving birth to a child has pain&nbsp;because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26749\" class=\"text John-16-22\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22&nbsp;<\/sup>So with you: Now is your time of grief,&nbsp;but I will see you again&nbsp;and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26750\" class=\"text John-16-23\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23&nbsp;<\/sup>In that day&nbsp;you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26751\" class=\"text John-16-24\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24&nbsp;<\/sup>Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive,&nbsp;and your joy will be complete.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26752\" class=\"text John-16-25\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cThough I have been speaking figuratively,&nbsp;a time is coming&nbsp;when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26753\" class=\"text John-16-26\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26&nbsp;<\/sup>In that day you will ask in my name.&nbsp;I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26754\" class=\"text John-16-27\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27&nbsp;<\/sup>No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me&nbsp;and have believed that I came from God.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26755\" class=\"text John-16-28\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28&nbsp;<\/sup>I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26756\" class=\"text John-16-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29&nbsp;<\/sup>Then Jesus\u2019 disciples said, \u201cNow you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26757\" class=\"text John-16-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30&nbsp;<\/sup>Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe&nbsp;that you came from God.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26758\" class=\"text John-16-31\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cDo you now believe?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;Jesus replied.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26759\" class=\"text John-16-32\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cA time is coming&nbsp;and in fact has come when you will be scattered,&nbsp;each to your own home. You will leave me all alone.&nbsp;Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26760\" class=\"text John-16-33\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cI have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.&nbsp;In this world you will have trouble.&nbsp;But take heart!
