{"id":1046,"date":"2022-05-22T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-22T09:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/?p=1046"},"modified":"2022-05-20T19:32:12","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T19:32:12","slug":"sermon20220522","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/YM\/sermon20220522\/","title":{"rendered":"Jesus said \u201cI am the resurrection and the life. &#8230; Do you believe this?\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span hidden=\"\">Jesus said \u201cI am the resurrection and the life.\u201d &#8230; Do you believe this?<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"sermonNotes2022\">\n<p>2022 Church Theme: Advancing God\u2019s Kingdom in the New Normalcy<br \/>\nScripture: John 11:17-27, 1 Corinthians 15:35-53 (NIV)<br \/>\nSpeaker: Mr. Alex Chan<\/p>\n<div class=\"audio-container\"><audio controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.ca\/mp3\/English\/2022_0522_E.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\"><\/audio><\/div>\n<p><u><strong>John 11:17-27(NIV)<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n<span class=\"text John-11-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17&nbsp;<\/sup>On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26542\" class=\"text John-11-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18&nbsp;<\/sup>Now Bethany&nbsp;was less than two miles<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-26542b\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-26542b&quot; title=&quot;See footnote b&quot;>b<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+11&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-26542b\">b<\/a>]<\/sup>&nbsp;from Jerusalem,<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26543\" class=\"text John-11-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19&nbsp;<\/sup>and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26544\" class=\"text John-11-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20&nbsp;<\/sup>When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26545\" class=\"text John-11-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cLord,\u201d Martha said to Jesus, \u201cif you had been here, my brother would not have died.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26546\" class=\"text John-11-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22&nbsp;<\/sup>But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26547\" class=\"text John-11-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus said to her,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cYour brother will rise again.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26548\" class=\"text John-11-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24&nbsp;<\/sup>Martha answered, \u201cI know he will rise again in the resurrection&nbsp;at the last day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26549\" class=\"text John-11-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus said to her,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cI am&nbsp;the resurrection and the life.&nbsp;The one who believes&nbsp;in me will live, even though they die;<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-26550\" class=\"text John-11-26\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26&nbsp;<\/sup>and whoever lives by believing&nbsp;in me will never die.&nbsp;Do you believe this?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-26551\" class=\"text John-11-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cYes, Lord,\u201d she replied, \u201cI believe that you are the Messiah,&nbsp;the Son of God,&nbsp;who is to come into the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>1 Corinthians 15:35-53 (NIV)<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n<span class=\"text 1Cor-15-35\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35&nbsp;<\/sup>But someone will ask,&nbsp;\u201cHow are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28755\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-36\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36&nbsp;<\/sup>How foolish!&nbsp;What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28756\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-37\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37&nbsp;<\/sup>When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28757\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-38\"><sup class=\"versenum\">38&nbsp;<\/sup>But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28758\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-39\"><sup class=\"versenum\">39&nbsp;<\/sup>Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28759\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-40\"><sup class=\"versenum\">40&nbsp;<\/sup>There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28760\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-41\"><sup class=\"versenum\">41&nbsp;<\/sup>The sun has one kind of splendor,&nbsp;the moon another and the stars another;&nbsp;and star differs from star in splendor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28761\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-42\"><sup class=\"versenum\">42&nbsp;<\/sup>So will it be&nbsp;with the resurrection of the dead.&nbsp;The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28762\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-43\"><sup class=\"versenum\">43&nbsp;<\/sup>it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory;&nbsp;it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28763\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-44\"><sup class=\"versenum\">44&nbsp;<\/sup>it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 1Cor-15-44\">If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28764\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-45\"><sup class=\"versenum\">45&nbsp;<\/sup>So it is written: \u201cThe first man Adam became a living being\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-28764f\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-28764f&quot; title=&quot;See footnote f&quot;>f<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Corinthians+15&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-28764f\">f<\/a>]<\/sup>;&nbsp;the last Adam,&nbsp;a life-giving spirit.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28765\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-46\"><sup class=\"versenum\">46&nbsp;<\/sup>The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28766\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-47\"><sup class=\"versenum\">47&nbsp;<\/sup>The first man was of the dust of the earth;&nbsp;the second man is of heaven.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28767\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-48\"><sup class=\"versenum\">48&nbsp;<\/sup>As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28768\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-49\"><sup class=\"versenum\">49&nbsp;<\/sup>And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man,&nbsp;so shall we<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-28768g\" data-link=\"[<a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-28768g&quot; title=&quot;See footnote g&quot;>g<\/a>]&#8221;>[<a title=\"See footnote g\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Corinthians+15&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-28768g\">g<\/a>]<\/sup>&nbsp;bear the image of the heavenly man.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-28769\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-50\"><sup class=\"versenum\">50&nbsp;<\/sup>I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood&nbsp;cannot inherit the kingdom of God,&nbsp;nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28770\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-51\"><sup class=\"versenum\">51&nbsp;<\/sup>Listen, I tell you a mystery:&nbsp;We will not all sleep,&nbsp;but we will all be changed\u2014<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-NIV-28771\" class=\"text 1Cor-15-52\"><sup class=\"versenum\">52&nbsp;<\/sup>in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
