RGM and CMM Praise God for the participation and outcome of the two Members Meetings held last Sunday. Meeting Minutes are already posted on our bulletin boards.

Regular General Meeting – 203 MGC Members took part and elected Annie Lam as our 2017 Internal Financial Auditor.

English Congregational Members Meeting – 32 English Congregation MGC Members took part and elected five 2018-2019 English Congregation Deacons. They are: Maureen Ho, Roden Lee, Janet Lui, Joseph Ng, and Doris Tang.

Fire Drill Notice Our church will be holding a fire drill today. Everyone is invited to participate by coming to the Chapel at 12:45 pm. There will be brief instructions and then the fire drill will start. For those parents of small children, there is no need to first pick up your children. They will be led by our volunteers during the fire drill, and will meet outside at the back lawn behind the rear parking lot. Please dress accordingly for going outside.

Children’s Pastor: We praise God that Pastor Amy Chow was approved by MGC Council to be our Children’s Pastor starting on November 1st. There will be an Induction Service for her on Nov. 26th at 10:35 am in the main sanctuary.

Special Thanksgiving Offering for the MGC General Fund. We praise God that last Sunday collected an additional $9,086. This has been included in “Last Week’s Offering” on the next page. Therefore, the total Thanksgiving Offering received in October so far is $38,426.

RGM and CMM For our Regular General Meeting and Congregational Members Meeting (both being held today), we encourage all church Members to participate by registering at the ballot table and submitting your Ballot before 11:30 am. Ballot results will be recorded this afternoon and will be published next week.

Fire Drill Notice Our church had arranged a fire drill to be held next Sunday (Oct. 29) at 12:45 pm. There will first be brief instructions and then the fire drill will start.  Please dress accordingly for going outside.

Children’s Pastor: We praise God that Pastor Amy Chow was approved by MGC Council to be our Children’s Pastor starting on November 1st. An announcement & a brief bio are on the foyer bulletin board. Members can submit opinions in writing for the Church Council’s consideration to the Chairman, Roden Lee until Oct. 29th.   May the Lord bless our church, and especially the Children’s Ministry!

Outside preaching: Rev. Lam has a preaching appointment at Mississauga Chinese Baptist Church this morning. May God’s message be delivered with clarity and power.

Fire Drill Notice Our church originally had arranged a fire drill today. However, due to the weather condition, it has now been moved to 2 weeks later; to be held on Oct. 29 at 12:45 pm. On that day, there will first be brief instructions and then the fire drill will start.  Please dress accordingly for going outside.

Advance Vote and Member Deacon Nominations If any Regular Member cannot cast their ballots on Oct. 22, they may request to vote in advance.  Today is the last day to request a ballot for an Advance Vote and also for Members to nominate any additional candidates for Congregational Deacons. Please refer to the notices for details.

One of the First Steps of Obedience in the journey of faith is to be baptized.  If you are interested in making this commitment, or would like to know more about baptism, please contact Rev. Fred Tham or any of our Deacons or Elders.

Thank you to all those who participated in our MGC Mercy and Justice Concerns  Sunday  last Sunday.  The English Congregation focused on the “International Justice Mission”; our Mandarin Congregation supported the “Love Foundation” ministry to “Left Behind Children” in China; and our Cantonese Congregation started collecting non-perishable food items for the  “Daily Bread Food Bank”.  There is still time to contribute and participate!  We encourage people from all three of our congregations to become “Freedom Partners” by contributing monthly to the International Justice Mission (any amount is appreciated); donate to the “Love Foundation” and bring in food for the Food Bank.  Thank you for your prayers and show of support!

At the end of the collection, ushers will approach the front with the bags for prayer and then walk them back to the offering box and place all donations into the offering box.  The placement of the offerings in the box will be overseen by a limited group of leaders who will ensure locked security of your generous tithes and offerings.  May the Lord bless all of us richly as we give cheerfully and sacrificially!
